6.1 Application

The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) applies to the interprovincial and international commercial activities of SecuAAS. Although Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector is recognized as substantially similar to PIPEDA, we maintain compliance with both frameworks for our clients outside Quebec.

6.2 The 10 PIPEDA Principles

SecuAAS adheres to the 10 principles set out in Schedule 1 of PIPEDA:

1. Accountability
SecuAAS is responsible for personal information under its control. The PRPPI (dpo@secuaas.com) is the point of contact for any questions.

2. Identifying Purposes
The purposes for collection are determined and documented before or at the time of collection. See section 1.4 of our Privacy Policy.

3. Consent
Informed consent is obtained for any collection, use, or disclosure of personal information.

4. Limiting Collection
Only information necessary for the identified purposes is collected.

5. Limiting Use, Disclosure, and Retention
Information is used or disclosed only for the purposes for which it was collected, and retained only as long as necessary.

6. Accuracy
Information is maintained as accurate, complete, and up-to-date as necessary.

7. Safeguards
Technical, administrative, and physical security measures proportionate to the sensitivity of the information are in place. See our Security page.

8. Openness
Personal information management policies and practices are accessible and written in clear language.

9. Individual Access
Upon request, individuals can access their personal information and challenge its accuracy.

10. Challenging Compliance
Any complaint or challenge may be directed to the PRPPI at dpo@secuaas.com.
